Термины, обозначающие держателей царской власти: к вопросу о микенском наследии в греческой политической терминологии
В древнейшем письменном источнике постмикенского периода, эпических поэмах Гомера, можно обнаружить ряд слов для обозначения тех, кого принято называть царями. При этом некоторые из них встречаются впервые в виде имен собственных, заимствованных из анатолийских языков, другие же были унаследованы от предшествующих эпох. Наиболее распространенными в гомеровском эпосе являются слова ἄναξ и βασιλεύς, которые представляют интерес для нашей темы, так как унаследованы от эпохи бронзы и отражают наиболее общие, а не локальные, тенденции в развитии терминологии власти
